<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Every developer&#8217;s first program prints &#8220;Hello, World&#8221; so it felt right to start the same way here.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I&#8217;m Szymon, an SDET based in Poznań. My days are mostly test automation, breaking things on purpose, and trying to pin down what &#8220;good quality&#8221; even means when the software keeps shifting under you. A lot of that lately is figuring out where AI actually helps in testing, and where it just gets in the way.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This is where I&#8217;m going to write it down.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Part of the reason is honestly selfish. I learn things faster when I have to explain them, and I wanted one place to keep the setups, the fixes, and the small wins that otherwise vanish into a MS Teams thread or some branch I never look at again. Over time I&#8217;d like it to double as a portfolio, a record of how I think about testing and how that thinking changes.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1024" height="538" src="https://testrun.me/storage/testrun-thumbnail-light-1-1024x538.png" alt="" class="wp-image-1331" srcset="https://testrun.me/storage/testrun-thumbnail-light-1-1024x538.png 1024w, https://testrun.me/storage/testrun-thumbnail-light-1-300x158.png 300w, https://testrun.me/storage/testrun-thumbnail-light-1-768x403.png 768w, https://testrun.me/storage/testrun-thumbnail-light-1-1536x806.png 1536w, https://testrun.me/storage/testrun-thumbnail-light-1-2048x1075.png 2048w, https://testrun.me/storage/testrun-thumbnail-light-1-40x21.png 40w, https://testrun.me/storage/testrun-thumbnail-light-1-100x53.png 100w, https://testrun.me/storage/testrun-thumbnail-light-1-200x105.png 200w, https://testrun.me/storage/testrun-thumbnail-light-1-714x375.png 714w, https://testrun.me/storage/testrun-thumbnail-light-1-1360x714.png 1360w, https://testrun.me/storage/testrun-thumbnail-light-1.png 2400w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Alternative version of the thumbnail. Not sure if I&#8217;ll even add these or if I like them honestly. But I&#8217;ve been playing around with Claude Design lately and so far my first impressions are pretty good.</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The other part is that I kept wishing this kind of writing already existed for me. Not the polished &#8220;what is testing&#8221; explainers, but the practical, slightly messy notes from someone actually doing the work. Real Playwright setups. Flaky tests and what finally fixed them. Honest takes on AI tools instead of the usual hype.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">So that is roughly what you&#8217;ll find here: hands-on notes on SDET work, test automation, Playwright, and AI in quality engineering. Short when it can be, detailed when it needs to be. If you do similar work, hopefully some of it saves you an afternoon.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">That&#8217;s the hello world out of the way. The real posts start next.</p>
